この書は、あなたを「持続可能な成功」という名の秘宝へと導く実践的な羅針盤です。

Prologue: For Navigators Who Have Lost Their Compass in the Age of Storms

 

A World of Chaos and Uncertainty  Many leaders today are plagued by profound anxiety and restlessness. The market is shrouded in impenetrable fog, making it exceedingly difficult to discern the right direction forward. This unprecedented period of turbulence has transcended the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) era, plunging us into the age of BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible).

In such an environment, conventional rules for success no longer apply. Risk assessment transforms into the maritime art of avoiding treacherous reefs, and information gathering becomes the desperate search for a lighthouse beacon in the darkness.　

Therefore, we propose The EDGE (Excellence / Dignity / Global / Evolution) as a framework for Strategic Leadership Management.

  • Excellence (Pursuit of the Ultimate) - A commitment to practicing outstanding leadership actions
  • Dignity (Practice of Respect) - Embodying dignity, the essence of human respect
  • Global (Co-creation with the World) - An essential leadership posture that transcends borders, organizations, and conventional thinking
  • Evolution (Continuous Transformation) - The will to proactively drive ongoing change

These four elements connect two universal teachings to their realization. Through insight into the nature of leaders who thrive in an ever-changing society, we present a new form of leadership here.

 

The Two Universal Teachings: "Ri" and "E"

Yet, the exceptional leaders who have built sustained success over many years have all internalized a crucial lesson. It is the two universal teachings, "Ri" and "E," systematized through real-world experience and scientific evidence.

  • "Ri" (Principle): The wisdom to discern the essence of matters and understand the universal principles and rules that govern business.
  • "E" (Empathy): A powerful guiding principle for action that involves surviving adversity with autonomous wisdom and bringing compassion and benefit to all people.

このような環境下では、従来の成功法則は通用しません。リスク評価は危険な岩礁を回避する航海術となり、情報収集は暗闇の中で灯台の光を探し求める行為に他なりません。
